When our life is not going the way we planned, we use words like disturbing, unsettled or chaotic. The question we all tend to ask is “why?”
After we ask why for a while and the situation doesn’t improve, we tend to add to the question… “why, God?” This usually leads us to one of three age-old theories.
1) God must be angry.
2) He didn’t stop it because he cant.
3) He just doesn’t really care about me.
Maybe what you’re experiencing in this moment is the providence of God. This is a deeply theological, difficult situation to fully comprehend and requires a tremendous amount of faith.
We prefer control over providence. We think when God doesn’t seem to be hearing us, we can take control, and make things better than He can.
This typically leads to a line of unhealthy choices. However, it is in the crisis spaces of our lives, He does his best work.
In life, crisis is normal, through crisis we get to see how fit our faith is.
